Ziion (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Ziion platform accessible at https://www.ziion.io and related applications (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information — name, email address, password, and profile details when you register.
- Payment information — billing address and payment card details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Profile content — photos, bios, posts, comments, and other content you choose to share on the platform.
- Communications — messages you send to us or other users through the Service.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, click patterns, and navigation paths.
- Device & log data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps.
- Cookies & similar technologies — session cookies for authentication and preference cookies to remember your settings. See Section 7 for more.
Information from third parties
- OAuth providers — if you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive your name and email from that provider per their privacy policy.
- Payment processors — Stripe may share transaction confirmations and fraud signals with us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and provide the Service.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Send transactional emails (registration confirmations, receipts, password resets).
- Send platform notifications and, where you have opted in, marketing communications.
- Improve, personalize, and expand our Service.
- Understand how users navigate the platform to fix bugs and develop new features.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted third parties who help us operate the Service (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payments, email delivery services). These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to perform services for us.
- Nation / community operators — if you join a community (“Nation”) on our platform, that Nation’s administrators can see your profile, enrollment status, and activity within their community.
- Other users — content you post publicly (posts, comments, profile) is visible to other members of communities you join.
- Legal compliance — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ziion or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change in ownership.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing privacy@ziion.io. Upon deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, tax records).
5. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction — you may view and update most of your personal information directly in your account settings.
- Data portability — you may request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Deletion — you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Marketing opt-out — you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking “Unsubscribe” in any email or emailing us. Transactional emails (receipts, security alerts) are not optional while your account is active.
- California residents (CCPA) — you have the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- EEA/UK residents (GDPR) — you may have additional rights under applicable law, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

6. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit and encrypted storage at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session (required for the Service to function), remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; however, disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies before providing any information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Effective” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
